Car rim powder coating candy red powder paints

Product Description

Electrostatic powder coating/powder paint is a kind of coating that is used as a free-flowing, dry powder, and dose not need a solvent to keep the binder and filler parts in a liquid suspension form, and is typically applied electrostatically and is then cured under heat to allow it to flow and form a hard finish that usually is tougher than conventional paint.

Powder coating/powder paint is widely used for coating of metals, such as drum hard, aluminium extrusions, warehouse, hold appliances and automobile and bicycle parts. Newer technologies allow other materials, such as plastics, glass, MDF(medium-density fibreboard) coated using different new methods.

Advantages of Powder coating/powder paint:

1. Tough, durable, lasting coating for metals. Excellent hardness and abrasion impact resistance gives improved product performance over most liquid coatings.

2. Wide range of colors.

3. Environmentally friendly outsourcing option to avoid permitting for solvent-based paints.

4.Less process variation results in consistence color and appearance of the product.

5. High film builds and excellent edge coverage gives better resistance to corrosion with proper pretreatment.

6. Coatings can be easily formulated for specific applications such as prolonged exposure to sunlight, the ability to survive in     highly corrosive environments, flexibility to allow forming after coating, or high durability and resistance to chipping.

Application Schedule:

> Applied by electrostatic spraying gun that can provide negative tension of 60-80kV

> Curing Schedule: 10-15minutes at 180°C-200°C

> Optimal film thickness: 60-90 μ m

Powder Properties

> Specific gravity: 1.25-1.75(depend on colors)

> Particle size distribution(Laser Particle size analyser): Less than 5% above 100 μ m;50-65% above 32 μ m

> Average particle size:35-45 μ m

Average Coverage

8-12 square meters/kg, thickness 60 μ m(100% of the powder coating utilization rate)

Color

RAL color, full color range is available

Substrates and Pre-treatment

In order to obtain optimal anti-corrosion properties it is recommended to apply a chemical pretreatment prior to powder coating application

> Ferrous metals(cold rolled steel, cast iron ect.):Iron or Zinc phosphation

> Zinc surfaces(Galvanized steel, zinc alloy):Chromation or Zinc phophation

> Aluminum alloys:Chromatation

Storage

> Should be stored under dry conditions with good ventilation at a temperature not exceeding 30°C

> Storage period recommended should not exceed 6 months, in case exceeding 6 months without affecting their free flowing properties, the powder will still have optimal characteristics.

> Should be protected from excessive heat, humidity, water and contamination with foreign materials such as powder, dust, dirt ect.

> Any leftover powder should be kept in an appropriate area that is cool and dry. Do not expose to the air too long as the powder properties may deteriorate with the moisture.

We offer powder coating capabilities that include a wide spectrum of colors, thickness, textures, softness, edge coverage, flexibilities, machinabilities, smoothness and temperature ranges. Free samples are available.
