WHAT IS THE ZNSE LENSES?

Chemically vapor deposited ZINC SELENIDE (CVD ZnSe) is the material of choice for use as optical components in high powered CO2 Lasers due to its low bulk absorption at 10.6 microns. Its index of refraction homogeneity and uniformity offers excellent optical performance for use as protective windows or optical elements in high resolution forward looking infrared (FLIR) thermal imaging equipment.
Advanced Materials’ CVD ZINC SELENIDE is also available as an evaporative source material. It is supplied in specified lump sizes(2-20 mm), which to minimize surface contamination, are hand selected to be free from saw cut, abraded or polished edges.

HOW TO CHOOSE THE FOCAL LENGTH?
1.5" lens:
# High resolution for detailed laser processing #Thin kerf on thin material cutting applications:Closer to work area, contamination more likely Poor cutting ability for thick materials (No thicker than 0.2” or 5,08mm).

2.0" lens:
#The all purpose engraving and marking and cutting lens. Best lens for both cutting and engraving thicker materials. #Not the best lens for very high resolution details.

#Great cutting of thick materials up to 5/8” (15,875mm) When clearance and tolerance exceeds the 2.0” lens. #Not recommended for photo engraving.

#Great thick cutting lens up to 3/4” (19,5mm) When clearance and tolerance exceeds the 2.0” lens.
#Not recommended for detailed engraving .
