1. It is suggested that the type and caliber of water meter should be determined according to the working conditions of water supply facilities , and the expected flow rate should be adapted to the flow rate of Q1 to Q3 of water meter

2. when the water meter is installing and start to  be used, the upstream valve should be  opened slowly to avoid hammer phenomenon caused by rapid opening, resulting serious damage to the water meter

3. Installation location should avoid exposure, freezing, flooding , keeping convenient to reading  and installation and detach. during the freezing period, it is should keep the inlet valve of the water meter is closed when the water meter and the water pipe are wrapped, and keep the water outlet valve and faucet are opened to prevent the water meter  being damaged by the expansion of freezing

4. the meter must be installed horizontally, keep the litera l upward, the direction of the arrow  on the meter case should be as same as the water flow . to insure the accuracy of measurements the st rai ght pipe with enough length and the same perturb should be installed according to the requirement of U10 and D5. if necessary, a strainer  can be installed between the upstream valve and the straight pipe, a non-return valve  should be installed between the downstream straight pipe and the valve

5.  All of the stones, mud, linen and other impurities must be cleaned out from the new pipeline before installation

6. the water meter should not be connected with the pipeline directly. there should be a live joint ( pipe joint, connecting nut, sealing gasket) between the water meter and the pipe.  Care must be taken not to pull the meter too hard and damage it  during assembling and  removing  process.

7. if the cold water meter is installed in the inlet pipe of the boiler, the hot water should be prevented to flow back and  to scald the water meter
