Distillerie Bonollo S.p.A.
Bonollo Distilleries Spa are one of the leading companies in the European viticultural distillation.
In 1908 the company was founded by Giuseppe Bonollo, the forefather, and in 1918 his son Luigi Bonollo moved to Formigine (Modena) and started distilling Lambrusco pomaces. Later his six sons Giuseppe, Melchiorre, Alberto, Luigi, Vittorio and Abramo took care of the business.
In 1958 Giuseppe Bonollo understood the great potential of central and southern Italy viticulture and started a new plant in Anagni, in the Frosinone province.
In 1976 a new facility in Torrita, in the Siena province, was purchased and restructured.
The company moved forward and in 1980 Giuseppe Bonollo, Order of merit for Labor, started a second plant in Anagni – Paduni area: that distillery became the largest in Europe.
In 2007 the Bonollo Distilleries entered the renewable energy field and in a few years they started Bonollo Energia Spa, a facility with a production capacity of 12 MW to get power out of biomasses: about 60% of them come from the own exhausted pomaces.
Bonollo Distilleries Spa represent a perfect example of circular economy, focusing on three main production lines: spirits, L+ natural tartaric acid and green power.
Nowadays the fourth generation of the Bonollo family looks ahead and keeps the tradition of Italian distillation alive, thanks to a century old history.
